Quote:Multi-run discount: makes each subsequent run of a given job cost a little less than the last, mainly to give another small thing that industrialists can optimize for once they've got the basics under control. For each run, the job cost is multiplied by 0.99 raised to the power of however many hours (or fractions thereof) the job will already have run at that point. This is calculated at installation time and therefore the job doesn't actually change price over time. Rather, we do the math up front. We're looking to cap the maximum bonus of this using the old Material Efficiency skill, which will no longer be affecting waste (see previous blog). So the comparative advantage of a T2 BPO starting a month-long job against an invented BPC is getting even larger? |

Wouldnt the estimation of the build cost be much more resistant to manipulation if it looked at the input price rather than the output, as the input is very likely to aggregate minerals/PI/moongoo, which are pretty hard to manipulate? |

Annie Bars wrote:Please! Instead of using output price as base for workforce cost, use input material prices! Otherwise, you killing dynamics, we already heave in industry: when some goods are short in supply, price goes up, so the incentive for industrials to switch production, but with your new workforce pricing system - price of manufacturing goes up as well! AND don't forget, searching for items that are high on demand but low in supply - is a fuking hard job! Now, considerably less rewarding. SO PLEASE use price of input materials as work force cost base! Not only that, but the total of material prices being the aggregation of multiple, usualy stable in price items, you'd reduce the risk of people gaming the system +á la FW. |
